Toothpaste + Wash = Natural Acne Cure?
Question: Toothpaste + Wash = Natural Acne Cure?
Age: 12
Female
Problem: Acne/ Small Zits/ Pimples/ BlackHeads
I just used “Crest (Whitening plus Scope)” toothpaste and left it on for 15-30 minutes, then I rinsed off with warm water. Then I took a plain bar of soap and washed my face to shut pores and remove oil from my face. Is it innocuous to repeat this? Will this clear my acne? How many times a day should I do this?

Nah,…I did it all at your age. It is your age and hormones– I doubt it will help but you can try.

Hey, Sarah Here,
Leave a dab of toothpaste on the zit over night, then rinse in the morning with skin astringent or pure rubbing alcohol. This will dry your face out TO THE MAX, but it will go away in a few days. Wash your face often. You should invest in skin astringent. It burns a little, but it cleans your face really well. Good luck!
I don’t think so… I actually hear regular soap’s bad for your face cuz is dries it up. But if you really have an acne problem and not just a few pimples I know tons of people who swear on proactive.
haha,no darling do not do that to your face!!i did this when i was 12,it works one time, then never works again. It’s not very good for your skin either.Trust me it’s just your hormones are going crazy right now, mine calmed down when i was finally 13.You might have a different case, though.Everyones different, but form what you’ve said your skin honestly doesn’t seem that horrible.Just ask your parent/parents if you could go shopping and buy some acne wash there.Make sure you know your face though and by this i mean,is it sensitve, oily, dry??GOOD LUCK!!!
Leave a dab of toothpaste on the zit over night, then wash your face with a facial cleanser followed by a skin toner and a daily moisturizer. This will dry your face out so be sure to use a facial moisturizer. Wash your face 2xs, morning + night. Also, Tea Tree oil products work very well your acne prone skin.
If it doesn’t work out for you than you’ll just have to wait it out, acne usually comes with adolescence. By the time your done high school you should be cleared.
I wasn’t aware that Crest was natural in any way. I don’t where this toothpaste against acne myth comes from, but if it has any bearing its most likely b/c some toothpastes have hydrogen peroxide in them which is a common drying agent used in over the counter acne washes. If you look at the back of all the acne face washes you will see the “Active Ingredient” is either hydrogen peroxide, benzoyl peroxide, or sulfur.
