I’ve had acne FOREVER. how do I get rid of it?

Question: I’ve had acne FOREVER. how do I get rid of it?
I’m nearly 20 right now, and I’ve had acne since I was about 11 or 12. I have tried an insane amount of face washes, face creams, antibiotics, pills, and herbal remedies. I had a small break when I was on Acutane for a year. It went away absolutely and then came back a couple months later with a vengeance. I went on it for another year, and it went away again, then came back yet again. I finally just gave up and stopped caring about it. I work out 5 days a week, run, swim, and consume very healthy. I take a multivitamin and drink tons of water.

wtf?

same thing is going on with me! its so frustrating! my doctor put me on 4 prescriptions that werent doing anything (creams and an antibiotic) She then put me on something called Retin-A which is a cream that i noticed is helping some. Also, she put me on clyndimicyn which helps too. Apparently since I’ve been on those prescriptions for so long (like 4 years), I’ve become immune to the antibiotic so I was just recently taken off of it and one of the creams (benzaclin). She reccomended i go on birth control or go see a dermatologist, so I would reccomend the same for you because our stories sound pretty similar. Hope I helped!

This could be due to your genetics or stress (try not to stress out too much k?). What worked for me was Pro-Active, ESPECIALLY the Refining Mask. It only took 2-3 months in the beginning to get rid of my acne since my skin was still getting used to it. However, since using Pro-Active, anytime I break out, I just put Pro-Active and it goes away in a matter of days. Another important factor is cleanliness. Make sure your hair is out of your face and wash it daily with lukewarm (not too hot water) and with Clearasil scrub or any type of scrub used to clean faces. What you can do also is combining Acutane with Proactive (make a type of schedule). Balance it out and don’t put too much or it’ll irritate your skin. Keep doing what your doing with working out and eating healthy and you might want to try some Vitamin E or see a dermatologist.

Some people just have it, you’ll maybe grow outta it in a few more years. I’ve had acne sense I was about 11 or 12 also && I’m also almost 20. All you can do is keep trying different thing that will improve your skin, tryin using face masks occationally to clean your skin && open your pores. I use tea tree oil face wash && wash my face twice a day. Its the only thing I’ve ever used that has improved my skin. I’m allergic to benzoyl peroxide so most acne medications I cant use. try out the tea tree oil face wash, if you havent before. I love it. I still get a pimple or two occationally but hardly ever as bad as I use to.
