Is taking the same herb every day effective?

Question: Is taking the same herb each day effective?
I’ve heard that for acne, your body becomes used to a herb cure after 2-3 weeks so it’s best to only take the herb for 2-3 weeks and then have a break or swap to another one.
I don’t have acne but drink herbal tea regularly (often the same types; dandelion and nettle for clearer skin). Now I’m thinking is it best to rotate the type of tea I drink each 2 weeks instead of having my usual 2-3 cups of different herbal teas each day?

It is effective at taking money from the hands of the gullible and putting in the hands of the scum-suckers who sell it. There is no herb that is useful for treating or preventing acne.

Aside from the skeptic’s sweeping statements, that is a common misinterpretation. It’s not that it stops working or that your body gets used to it, it’s that you get the maximum level of benefits eventually. Think of it like drinking water… if you haven’t had anything to drink for a day, that first drink of water will taste absolutely wonderful, almost like the best thing you’ve ever had to drink, but if you’ve been drinking water steadily throughout the day, that same drink of water will taste just like all the other glasses.
You may not feel an increase in the benefits if you take it longer term, but if you’re getting the benefits from any given herb, you’ll definitely notice when you stop taking it as you’ll lose those benefits. Your body sees herbs the same way it sees food… it’s nutrition you’re not getting otherwise. ;-) Good luck and I hope I helped!

People tend to say that sort of thing about herbs that are adaptogens – (for example, ginseng) – most of the things that are taken for acne are “cleansing” herbs – (and I would skeptically assert that the problem with acne is due to immunological genetics, not waste metabolism) – - but with those “cleansing” herbs (which really don’t exist anyhow), nah, not gonna make one bit of difference.

    Be well

I don’t think it would make too big of a difference, do what ever you feel is going to be best for your skin.

If you take anything in excess it will reverse the effect and do more damage than good.

Herbals take for 2 weeks following a moon cycle then stop. repeat if neccessary but herbs
adjust to your chemistry and work with it and eventually your body produces the essence to keep you
    healthy without ingesting the plant.

    Example:
I had reoccuring uti i took fenugreek and fennelseed tea for about a week on the night of the full moon until 7 days later. it helped
and then i got another uti so i repeated the process and now i have no issues.
