Exercise is the best way to detox your body. All that sweat wicks away impurities. Just be sure to shower after working out to ensure that your pores stay clear. Also, drink tons of water (this includes teas) and always sleep 8 hours a night. Eat fruits and veggies, but concentrate on ones high in antioxidants and vitamins (blueberries, oranges, cranberries). I follow these rules, and I have not missed a day of work or school due to sickness for over 6 years. I feel great and have good skin to boot! But don’t forget, the teenage years are tough on everyone, so you cant escape some acne and feelings of “bleh”. Those are normal parts of being a teenager.

“Detox” is a myth, there is no such thing. I promise you, it is something invented by people who are making money from selling detox pills and foot detoxers and all kinds of stuff that does nothing! They try to convince you that your body is full of toxins from an unhealthy lifestyle, and you need their product to clean you out…It is complete rubbish. Your body is an amazing thing and our kidneys and liver work hard 24 hours a day and they can easily get rid of anything our body doesn’t need.

Here is some information on the ‘detox’ myth:

As for foot ‘detoxers’ – lots and lots has been written about why they are rubbish – do a search for “foot detox” and “myth”!! Basically, there are 2 methods. You can buy foot pads, which turn brown when you leave them on your feet. This is because there is stuff in them that reacts with sweat and goes brown from the sweat you naturally produce. There are also water baths. You put your feet in them and the water goes brown and maybe frothy. This is basically because the electrode release rust! Experiments have been done where someone put their feet in the water, then the water was tested to see what was in it – there were no toxins, only iron from the rusty electrode. For someone who understands how the body actually works, it is obvious that there is no way you could remove any toxins through your feet anyway.

Why not ask your science teacher at school to explain to the class why ‘detox’ doesn’t work!

@mizz-devin – “what gave you that crazy idea” – 9 years at top universities studying biochemistry and clinical biochemistry, plus four years in a medical laboratory where we actually measure the chemicals that are in people’s bodies. And your qualifications are?

Detox IS NOT a myth. What gave you that crazy Idea?

Our bodies are amazing, BUT they are also full of toxins due to unhealthy lifestyles, environmental harm etc and unfortunately, can have defects because of it.Hence, most cases of cancer.

kidney and liver do well but they can be impaired from working hard removing all that crap from our bodies.

You don’t have to buy expensive cleansing systems. You just have to know what kind of herbs/antioxidants to use to assist your body.

“You can buy foot pads, which turn brown when you leave them on your feet. This is because there is stuff in them that reacts with sweat and goes brown from the sweat you naturally produce. ”

I’ve actually used these before and they have became lighter in color over the course of weeks…so the sweat theory isn’t really valid BUT I cannot say if it worked THAT great or not.

As far as the foot detox, I would not bother wasting money.Instead, use herbs and vitamins to help you accomplish health.

Try a book called prescription for nutritional healing. You can purchase it at Borders and suck.

Natural remedy methods have been around longer than modern medicine. It was the modern medicine of its time.
