Question: I have moderate-severe acne. any advice for me?please!!!?
Hello people. i have had moderate-severe acne for a few years now. i have tried everything i could think of other than accutaine….dermotologist prescribed creams, internal antibiotics, chinese herbs, diets, tested for allergies, etc. and please don’t tell me to try accutaine bewcause i am not going to reisk my health for my looks. but this acne is really getting on my nerves. i have really oily skin and tons of blackheads and clogged pores too, so i presume that’s where my acne comes from. i have tried washing my face 2x a day with a mild cleanser, i have tried washing it 3x a day with a scrub, but my pores are still clogged and my skin is very oily so i guess that is what is leading to my acne. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Hey, Sarah Here,
As long as you have health insurance, keep going to your dermatologist. My son has been doing all the things you mentioned with no success too.
We went back to the dermatologist and this time he prescribed an antibiotic cream and pill combo that is starting to work. He had it really bad on his back, and all the pores are shrinking and fading now after one week’s use. The cream is called Benza clin.
apparently this works…

ive just read this question , so I havn’t got a clue but just read it , it might work? :S
Use CETAPHIL ANTIBACTERIAL GENTLE CLEANSING BAR..its great for acne and oily prone skin..i have mild acne and use that and it has helped me a lot..for blackheads i use BIORE cleansing strip…they work pretty good…just make sure you stick to a routine for at least 2 months before deciding it doesn’t work… also, dandruff sometimes causes pimples and breakouts…if you have you should treat it. good luck!!
For soaps I would only use anti-bacterial soaps on your face and Ten- o-six. It works really well. I had acne for a long time after I had my child and could never find anything that helped. Aunt suggested using anti-bacterial soap and mother-in-law gave me Ten-o-six and the combo was awesome. My skin is sensitive and all of the acne creams would just make things worse.
OK, first, i would like to thank you for trying things. some people come on here and ask: ‘why do i have acne? I’ve washed my face and it wont go away?’ Jesus, lol!
well, i also tried everything, accutaine, blemeesh, t-zone, clearasil, clean and clear, i also tried rubbing all sorts of creams and food all over my face only to experience a LOT of rashes.
i went to the doctor and they prescribed a pill to me, along with a cream containing 10% benzoyl peroxide. the cream is called quinoderm and it worked great. i also had oily skin, it dries out your skin and the spots fade and eventually disappear. i recommend washing your face twice a day with a good face wash, then moisturize with a loisturizer (lotion & moisturizer) because this cream makes your face look soo dry its un believable. and the doc said buy any face wash containing the tiny blue small beads jojoba ones. i eventually found good face wash its called clarity. every since i saw the doc 6 months ago, the results have been amazing. the pill he prescribed me was called Erythromycin, but it cant be bought at any drug store, it has to be prescribed by a doctor, so i would suggest going to a doctors and asking about it.
to have severe acne, you will have spots on your back. just go to your doctors and explain you have tried everything, and you would like to try Erythromycin (pill form) and tell him you even have the acne on your back too (its a strong drug, and shouldnt be used on mild/moderate acne- only severe) its a 6 month course, a tablet in the morning and before bed too. use the cream quinoderm cream in the morning, afternoon, and night (dont wash it off and if you have long hair tie it up before bed) and wash your face twice a day with a good face wash. then of course, loisturise (lotion moisturiser)
remember, drink lots of water, and after every meal wash your hands so that if you accidentally touch your face, grease isnt being rubbed onto it. TRY AND KEEP YOU HANDS OFF YOUR FACE! im a natural worrier, and i forever have my fingers in my mouth, or on my lips, or hand on my chin, and i have had to stop doing it to keep these flying saucers off my face. when you wash your face too, DO NOT SCRUB even though the face wash is a face scrub, buy a flannel/face cloth, and put a small dollop onto the warm flannel. in gentle circular motions, rub the face was onto your dampened face, then rinse off with cold water.make sure you was every where. amongst the forgeting places is the side of the nose where black heads hide, the crease in the chin, the hairline on your forehead, and the bottom of your face. remember to stick to these rules, and in 6 months, i promise you your face will have either none, or very very small minute pimples even you wont notice, just like i have one right now on the side of my ear lol. i might add, i have no other spots anywhere on my face!
ADD@ i thought i had already put this in but i didnt, before trying this, consult your doctor incase you are allergic, and steam your face to rid your pores of all the products youve been poisoning them with lol, after a 2 minute steam, wash your face with ice cold water. if you dont have a steamer, use a wash basin filled with boiling water, lean over it, and put a bath towel over your head to stop steam escaping. make sure your face has been washed first before steaming.
i hope i helped, and i hope you see your results happen just as i did over the last 6 months! xx
