Hey, Sarah Here,
First, examine your diet. Do you eat a lot of nuts, peanut butter, …etc? If so, stop. Nuts are a big acne offender. Second, be gentle on your skin. Irritating skin with harsh washcloths or harsh cleansers won’t dry out your skin and clear it. It will simply irritate it which will make it produce MORE oil in order to protect its self. Third, go to a dermatologist and ask him about Nicomide. This is a prescription supplement (not a drug) that is the newest rage. For people whose acne has not responded to antibiotics, peels, retinA, this is the best choice because it really works if the cause of your acne is a problem with zinc deficiency.
dont buy a bunch of cleansers and products. it makes it worse.
i completly understand what your going threw with the self esteem issue it sucks.
the way i got rid of my acne
1.) i got on birthcontrol
2.) i took a visit to the dermitoligist that told me not to wash my face everyday that it actually makes acne worse as well as using products. its. they told me its good to keep the natural oils in the skin. so i use st ives blackhead and blemish scrub once a week. i wash my face ONCE a week. i dont use any cleansers nothing. but i do use some moisterizer.
3.) watch what kinds of make ups you use. that can have alot to do with it. try to switch to something natural or none at all if you can. but if you do switch to something natural go with bare minerals.
4.) watch what you eat. chocolate and stuff is kinda a no no if your trying to get rid of acne
5.) dont listen to these adds like proactive THEY DONT WORK.
i promise if you do what i did you wont have any acne
i hope i could help i have no more acne! ive been acne free for YEARS.
hmmm, natural remedies …. Well, washing your face is good. Also, exfoliate once a day or every other day. The most natural way would be with sea salt. Drink lots of water. Don’t pick at or pop your pimples. That causes scarring and usually doesn’t make the pimple or its remnants go away any faster. If you do pop a pimple, dab hydrogen peroxide on it with a q-tip (cotton swab). It helps to dry up the blood faster and hence, heals faster. It also kills any germs that were there or that were on your fingers or fingernails when you were popping it. That doesn’t mean there won’t be a dark spot there afterwards which is a scar and may or may not fade over time. Always moisturize after washing your face. Wash your face every morning and every night. Dry your face by patting gently with a soft towel. Eat healthy. Make sure you are eating lots of fruits and veggies. Use SPF 15 or higher when you are outdoors.
I can’t help but give product names because it’s such an important part of having a good skin care regimen. I have seen 2 different dermatologists and both recommended Neutrogena. I use the Oil-free Moisture face moisturizer, and I also use the Extra Gentle Cleanser in the morning, and the Deep Clean Gentle Scrub at night as my exfoliator.
I have tried everything in the bathroom cabinet from rubbing alcohol to hydrogen peroxide to toothpaste. I don’t recommend any of those except for the way I meantioned above to use hydrogen peroxide, which you shouldn’t even need to in the first place if you don’t pop your pimples.
If you are really serious about getting rid of your acne you should see a dermatologist. Right now I use BenzaClin for my acne and I think it works really well. I’m also on Trinessa (birth contol) because it helps regulate your hormones which helps keep your skin clear. If you have acne, I recommend looking for your remedy outside of the “natural” realm.

Homemade acne remedies are not one of those complicated skin care masks or skin remedies. They are ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen cabinets right now. Some you might not have handy but it is worth spending some money to get a hold of them.
Here are a few quick homemade acne remedies to get you started:
Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a strong antiseptic that not only cleanses the skin and removes the impurities, it creates a layer on the skin that prevents future inflammation and infection. Some people might find apple cider vinegar to be an irritant so make sure you test it on the inner side of the arm; don’t proceed if there is any redness or irritation.
To use it as a home remedy for acne, dilute some vinegar with water (8 parts water: 1 part vinegar), dip cotton balls into the solution and rub your face gently (be careful not to touch the eyes!).
Baking soda
Simply mix some baking soda with water until you get a paste like consistency. Apply it liberally on the face and let it stay for 20-30 seconds, that’s plenty. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
Baking soda is an exfoliator and it is often used in facial scrubs. It is a gentle scrub so unless you rub the face vigorously, there are no risks involved.
Oatmeal
Oatmeal is one of the greatest natural cleansers and exfoliants. Oatmeal is a potent anti-inflammatory agent, used on every skin type and including sensitive/problem skin type that can react badly to various ingredients. This will not happen when you use oatmeal, it is gentle and neutral.
To treat acne, you can either grind some oatmeal and mix it with water to create a paste similar to the baking soda one, or you can cook some, let it cool down, apply it on the face by using gentle, circular motion, and then wash the face off. In either case, your face will feel clean and refreshed.
Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is one of the ingredients I mentioned might not be readily available but it is so widely used in natural skin care that it is a good idea to buy a bottle and have it ready. Tea tree oil is a strong antiseptic and it is used to treat anything from dandruff, skin inflammation, insect bites, to yes, acne.
Use tea tree oil diluted (with another carrier oil such as jojoba) and dab a bit on the area where acne appeared. Don’t slather it all over the face; tea tree oil is strong enough to be used only on the affected area. Be careful to use it diluted, as I said, as tea tree oil can be toxic if overused or used improperly.
There is no “miracle” or “overnight” cure for acne. Combine the use of homemade acne remedies with proper nutrition and generally good skin care routine, and you are guaranteed to see reduction of acne and improvement of the overall skin texture.
