I was told that I shouldn’t use anything on my face; However, I know that I should clean my face!!! So Im curious to see what people recommend that would be both innocuous and effective on my face to both clear it up (acne) and keep it clean. Thank you for your time

Try to use natural handmade glycerin soap (bar) over cheap commercial brands. I personally use Lifeworks natural handmade Soaps. Here is the reason why:
Glycerin

use St. Ives Apricot Scrub!!!! its lovely and great for acne and healthier skin and is like organic or somethin and basically completely natural and makes u look very soft :] trust me
i stopped washing my face every day as well. i take a cotton ball and put some rubbing alcohol on it and run it over my skin. if the ball is dirty i get a new one and do it again.
then every so often if my skin feel grimy (i’ve sweat a lot or something) i’ll use a cleanser for sensitive skin
also, change your pillow case twice a week or more if possible and keep your hair out of your face

haha my mom told me the same thing. I have an acne problem and she never had one so she obviously doesnt understand!
I would use cetaphil , its the safest most effective clenser out there. Dont try anything drastic though like any hardcore clensers because that will irritate your skin.
I would start using it once a day and if you like it , start using it once in the morning and once at night.
And use your hands and lukewarm water to wash it with. Towels hold bacteria that can cause acne. Use your fingertips but dont scrub to hard or this can cause irritation.
Whatever you do , dont try any scrubs on your face unless you have blackheads because that just opens up your pores and lets in dirt and oil that shouldnt be in there.
