Benefits of Incorporating Herbal Teas into your Bath

Benefits of Incorporating Herbal Teas into your Bath

Some people rest with a cup of tea and others with a bath. Why not do both by adding herbal teas to your bath water. The herbs in these teas have many benefits for the body and mind. You can soothe your achy muscles and joints, relieve stress and tension, aid your digestion or rejuvenate your skin by adding them to your bath.

How to do this:

The first step is to prepare the tea. You will need 5-6 tea bags or the equivalent in loose tea. Make sure you use organic ingredients for best results. You want the herbs to be as pure as doable to enjoy their benefits to the maximum. Begin boiling about 2 cup of water but take it of the stove when it’s very hot but not boiling. We don’t want boiling water because this will only burn the leaves, however the water needs to be hot enough to extract the properties of the herbs into the water. Let the tea mixture sit for 5 minutes and then add to your bath water. You can add only the water part or include the tea bags or loose leaves. The choice is yours, some people like to pass the tea bags over their skin as a sponge.

Question: Tea tree Oil Question….?
I know its been stated and done but
I just bought a bottle of Herbal Harvest’s Tea Tree Oil….and I am going to begin spot treating my pimples and old acne marks
I don’t have an acne problem, but my scars stand out since my face USED to be clear LOL
now, whats the best way to use this product? I have heard that it does dry out the skin…and best to moisturize

so would i just wash my face with my normal facial cleanser…spot treat my pimples/marks with tea tree oil and a q-tip….wait for it to dry, and THEN apply my moisturizer?

thanks a bunch
Well my scars aren’t like years old…they’re about 1-2 months old…

i don’t think my tea tree oil is 100% pure….it states it is “less then 5% cineole and over 35% terpinen-4-ol”

i have no theory what that means…but i guess i will first dip my q-tip in water, then in the tea tree oil….
right now i am testing it on my hand and legs…just to see if i get an reaction
so far so good
i guess there’s only one way to see if tea tree oil will work for me….gotta try it out! lol

thanks for all the help/advice/feedback

keep ‘em coming anyway!! would like to know more about people and their experience

In my experience, TTO has no effect whatsoever on acne scars if they are old. If it is a fresh scar, then it heals with less scarring, but does not eliminate it altogether.

Just spot treat the pimples with TTO dropped onto a Q-tip. Let it dry, then spot treat another 2X before going to bed. 3 hits seems to be the magical number, to greatly reduce the inflammation by morning.

TTO is a great product for acne.

What i do is i mix the tea tree oil rite into my moisturizer. I used to put it directly on my skin, but my skin reacted to it. I find it works best mixed in with the moisterizer.

anybody that ive known to use it puts it on a cotton ball and rubs it on problem areas like the t-zone..

1 Dilute tea tree oil depending on your skin type. For use on normal to oily skin, mix 1 part tea tree oil with 9 parts water, or for sensitive skin, combine 1 part tea tree oil with 9 parts aloe vera gel. Tea tree oil is very strong and should never be applied directly to the skin unless diluted.

Experiment with your solution. If you find that your mixture causes no adverse reactions, such as redness, dry skin or itching and would like a stronger mixture to treat acne, you can slowly begin to increase the strength of the dilution; however, make sure that you use each new mixture for at least one week before making it stronger.

Use your tea tree oil solution by first washing your face with a gentle cleanser and patting dry. To help cut oil and acne, place the solution to a cotton ball and apply a light layer to your skin. After drying, apply an oil-free moisturizer. Repeat at night before bed.

Make a tea tree oil mask which can be applied once or twice a week to help control acne break-outs. Add one or two drops of tea tree oil to enough natural green clay powder to make a mask, adding enough water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste evenly to your face and neck and leave for 30 minutes. Additionally, you can use this mask to spot treat pimples, leaving the mask on overnight.

i think it’s best to use a cotton bud and pour a little bit of it and slowly and evenly spread it over your face keep doing that for a few days and it should clear up

  5. Triccia says:

nope it has no effect on old scars, its just like merdema, just wear foundation that is what i do.

  6. digi says:

Tea tree oil is anti-bacterial for active breakouts. It is not an effective treatment for post-inflammatory pigmentation. If you’re trying to speed up fading of the marks, I’d suggest products with glycolic acid…. but use plenty of sunscreen-moisturizer and wear it every day, because glycolic and other alpha hydroxy acids make your skin more vulnerable to the sun and might cause some flaking due to the exfoliation.

  7. katiekg says:

I would wear the TTO for a couple of hours (since this is winter and your skin is already a bit dryer than normal probably) and then wash off before putting on the moisturizure. But for the first application, I would just put on, leave on, and then after a bit, slather on the moisturizure. BUT BE CAREFUL! I’ve used TTO stuff before, and my skin was fine with it the first couple of times, then I started getting hot spots on my face, and then odd scabby, dry scaly patches.

Now, I use neosporin and burt’s bee’s blemish stick sometimes, as well as just apply concealer and foundation to cover my scars until they heal. (I know, it totally sucks when you used to have nice skin, and then you get these awful scars! Blech!)
